The Kraken V4 guitar amp combines a V4 Series all-valve preamp with a 180-watt Class D power amp. Building on the success of the Kraken V4, the Kraken V4 retains its ultra-compact format and exceptional tones, while adding new features. Thanks to the DynIR Virtual Cabinet technology integrated into the Two Notes Audio Engineering Torpedo, you can take your cabinets anywhere with you!
Gain 1 and 2
The Kraken V4 guitar amp has two channels. Gain 1 offers a slightly fuller saturated sound with a vintage British inspiration. Gain 2 is more precise in the lows, with sharper mids and, of course, more saturation.
3-Band EQ
Powerful bass, middle, and treble controls to sculpt your sound. They also affect gain and saturation, just like on any valve guitar amp.
Reverb
A rich and warm digital reverb gives you a wide and enveloping ambience. Turn it down for a subtle sense of space, or crank it up for a vast and immersive sound! The reverb is footswitchable via a TRS cable (sold separately).
Two Notes Technology
The DynIR Virtual Cabinet technology from Two Notes Audio Engineering, integrated into the Kraken, is also present. The Cab Sim XLR connector lets you easily take your Victory virtual cabinets everywhere with you.
Series Effects Loop
Located between the preamp and power amp, this loop allows you to apply your time-based effects for optimal clarity.
Balanced Line Output and Headphone Output
Send a direct signal to an external cabinet simulator, the front-of-house console, or any other device. Can be used with or without a connected cabinet. The built-in headphone output makes silent practice faster and easier.
9V DC Power Output
Want to power extra pedals and add this amp to your pedalboard? We have included a 9V DC center-negative output that delivers a maximum current of 500mA. That is more than enough for the vast majority of overdrive, fuzz, and analog delay pedals, etc.
VRC – Valve Response Circuit
This small circuit component aims to replicate the effect of a "resonance" or "thump" control (and many other adjectives exist!) in the power section of a valve amp. Thanks to the V.R.C.™ circuit, you get closer to the sound of a valve power stage, all in an ultra-compact format that you can slide into your backpack and which offers up to 180 watts of power!
TWO NOTES TECHNOLOGY
We have collaborated with the talented engineers at Two Notes Audio Engineering to integrate their cutting-edge technology into our V4 Kraken guitar amp.
Right out of the box, you have access to six presets created by Rabea Massaad, a Victory and Two Notes artist (and Kraken collaborator). These presets were specifically designed by Rabea for the Kraken V4 guitar amp. Ten Victory virtual cabinets are included with the amp and accessible by connecting the Kraken V4 to your computer via Torpedo Remote (available as a free download from the Two Notes website). This is where you access the power amp modes, rooms, studio-quality EQ, and audio amplifier.
THE STORY OF THE V4 AMP VALVES!
The V4 amps are equipped with interesting valves: three CV4014s and one EC900. The CV4014s were manufactured in 1981 at the Mullard factory in England, then stored in a temperature-controlled atmosphere, deep underground in a depot that was part of a Cold War nuclear bunker! They remained there until we decided to use them to design certain products.
The EC900s were manufactured by E.I. (Elektronska Industrija) in the former Yugoslavia under Philips and Mullard license. Their build quality was exceptional, so much so that we offer a 2-year warranty on the tubes in V4 amplifiers.
KRAKEN V4 UPDATE
Launched in 2021, the Kraken V4 amplifier was updated in 2022 with a headphone output and a valve response circuit (VRC). This update coincided with the launch of the V4 Copper, V4 Jack, and V4 Sheriff.
