The MK Overdrive, our ultimate overdrive amplifier! For years, we have been asked what the sound of the Victory amp, the Cornford MK50, is like. This is how Martin's ultimate overdrive amp was born.
The MK Overdrive is hand-built in England, with no expenses, components, manufacturing time, or amp design constraints spared. Every amp leaves the factory after being inspected and signed by Martin, confirming it meets his high standards.
THE ULTIMATE OVERDRIVE AMP?
The MK Overdrive is an amp designed to be versatile enough to meet the needs of all guitarists. The Clean channel has its own gain control, as well as presence and resonance settings. A Voice switch adds upper-mids in position 2. This channel offers plenty of headroom and is perfect for pedals.
VERSATILE TWO-CHANNEL DESIGN
With its separate Clean and Overdrive channels, this Overdrive channel offers two gain modes: Gain 1 for Crunch and Rhythm sounds, while Gain 2 provides saturated overdrive.
SEPARATE EQ CONTROLS
The MK Overdrive features separate EQ controls for the Clean and Overdrive channels, making it one of our most versatile and easy-to-control amps to date. Overdrive channel volumes 1 and 2 are footswitchable independently of gains 1 and 2.
RESONANCE AND PRESENCE CONTROLS
Each channel has its own resonance and presence controls, which affect the power section's negative feedback loop. This is particularly useful on the Overdrive channel, allowing for precise treble adjustment via the presence control.
CLEAN AND OVERDRIVE VOICE CONTROLS
For optimal handling, each channel has its own voice controls. The Clean Voice setting adds a bit more upper-mids, noticeable through the treble setting. The Overdrive Voice setting affects both gain modes, adding brightness in position two and slightly higher gain.
ULTIMATE FOOTSWITCH CONTROL
The MK Overdrive is equipped with a custom four-button footswitch to control the channel, two gain types on the overdrive channel, a volume selector for the overdrive channel, and an effects loop on/off button. These are housed in a custom, punched, welded, painted, and UV-printed pedal, unique to the MK series and reflecting the professional aesthetic of the family.
WHAT'S IN THE BOX?
Every MK Overdrive comes with a padded cover to protect the Muirhead leather finishes. Additionally, for any order of an MK head and cabinet, you receive a custom engraved plexiglass cover to protect your cabinet when placing the head on top. Finally, each amp comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Martin Kidd.
MK series amplifiers are available to order in many custom finishes, with a choice of panel color, handle, corners, and a wide selection of genuine leather coverings. The leather is supplied exclusively by Muirhead Scottish Leather, leather supplier to the House of Lords, Rolls-Royce, the Orient Express, Aston Martin, and now, Victory Amplification.
