Designed and built in Costa Mesa, California

Wide open and gloriously unbridled, the new Jet Black packs a visceral punch. It looks big but it remains nimble, responsive and dynamic – you have complete control, using nothing other than your pick attack and controlling the volume of your guitar. An unapologetically joyful amp to play, the Jet Black will have you flashing a wicked grin every time you plug it in.

The simple design features 38 watts via a quartet of EL84s, two channels, tremolo and reverb.

Each of the two channels has a single input volume control and a master volume control, so you can cover a wide dynamic range without disturbing the peace.

The first reinvented channel features an avant-garde personality. Sharpened and bolder, cleans ring with authority, those magical mid tones swirl with harmonics and clarity, and for those of you who need it, the amp is easily provoked by healthy gain levels. All this from a single channel.

The second channel is something special and brand new. To cut to the chase, no matter what you're looking for in a rock-oriented amp, chances are the Jet Black achieves it – hard. It spans decades of iconic tones, while maintaining a unique personality – the perfect combination of nostalgia and modernity with its own inimitable swagger.

A new 3-band EQ has a pugnacious mid/treble bark, which cuts through without a hint of harshness, and it's this midrange that lets your playing shine. The controls have been designed to be perfectly balanced when set to noon, so you can easily brighten or dim the lighting to suit your speaker or room without the need for excessive or unbalanced settings. The Jet Black's sound stands out from the traditional 'British Voice' and by playing in a two-guitar group it finds its own sonic space, mitigating the risk of a volume war.

Meticulously tuned reverb and tremolo circuits perfectly match the Jet Black's personality. The reverb is sumptuous, with no splash or noise, and the tremolo pulses with adjustable depth and speed.

As with every new Bad Cat, you get a buffered, seamless effects loop, meaning no drama when connecting your beloved effects. A line out means using external IRs or re-amping is a snap, and there's a full complement of speaker outputs to choose from. Finally, we've included a compact two-button footswitch for on/off tremolo and changing amp channels.

So this is it. Meet Jet Black – the baddest cat yet.
