By connecting the SYN-1 to your amp's effects loop using a simple 3-cable method, you can footswitch between the two channels of your Synergy preamp module and your amp's built-in channels. By clicking "Bypass" on the footswitch, you bypass the amp's preamp, giving full tone control to the SYN-1 and allowing you to switch between the module's two channels. With a simple module swap, you can turn any amp into a Diezel VH4, Friedman BE, Morgan AC40, or any other high-end amp recreated in the Synergy line. Since each Synergy module features two footswitchable channels and an effects loop, you can easily create new sounds on the fly. Best of all, thanks to the effects loop built into the SYN-1, you can still use your favorite rack and pedal effects before or after the preamp section.
You might be wondering, "But my amp doesn't have a serial effects loop… can I still use the Syn1?" The answer is YES! Simply use the 1/4" direct output to plug into your amp. However, this method only allows for the use of the two Synergy module channels and does not bypass your current amp's preamp… but it does give you two boutique amp channels!
