Expect everything from blues rock from the 60s to heavy rock from the 70s and 80s and beyond...

This EL84-powered dual-channel amp delivers classic British overdrive tones, housed in the same lightweight, portable metal chassis as our award-winning V30 and V40 heads. Blues-rock players will love the mid-'60s-style feel and response of the Input/Volume I, with enough gain for singing but also cleaning the guitar well. Input/Volume II soars into '70s and '80s territory and beyond, retaining that classic British "plexi" sound all the way. A separate speaker output gives you room-level tone at just 0.3 watts. The Sheriff 22 is for rock players who want to travel small but go further!

Two footswitchable channels

Entries/Volumes I & There are separate footswitchable channels. Volume I has plenty of overdrive if you want it, with a smoother, more “vintage” midrange focus. Volume II moves forward a decade or two with more gain, more punchy mids, and tighter bass. Do you want it to be cleaner? Simply reduce the volume of your guitar.

Great tones at low volume

The Sheriff 22 can handle gigs with no problem, but what about playing quietly at home? Instead of a low power mode, we included a separate internal power supply with its own speaker output. Just 0.3 watts, which means true room-level tone.

Series effects loop

A serial effects loop is available for effects fans. It is completely out of the circuit when strongly bypassed. This is a post-phase inverter master volume amp, so effects can easily be overdriven when used in the loop. Our advice is to set the mix/output levels on your effects much lower than you would for the front end.

External bias adjustment

Both EL84s operate in fixed bias in the Sheriff 22, so the amp requires rebiasing when you replace the output tubes. This process is simple thanks to external measuring points and adjustment. All you need is a multimeter – instructions are in the amp manual.
