DESCRIPTION
Designed in collaboration with one of the founding fathers of thrash metal, highly acclaimed Megadeth bassist David Ellefson, the Jackson® X Series Signature David Ellefson Concert™ Bass CBX V is a bass beast. Bearing his personal touches and loaded with huge Jackson sound and the ultra-fast playability required by the nimble-fingered bassist, this five-string instrument is a force to be reckoned with.
Redesigned ergonomic contours provide the perfect platform for launching a musical assault—the upper contour provides a comfortably stable anchor for pick or fingerstyle playing, while the lower contour provides perfect balance when rested on a knee. Engineered for highly technical, lightning-fast playing, the 12"-16" compound radius laurel fingerboard flattens as you move up the neck for increased playing comfort and rapid articulation.
A pair of EMG® HZ40 active humbucking pickups in the neck and bridge positions provide plenty of volume and edge, while an active 3-band EQ reinforces their native power, shaping and refining it for maximum impact and versatility. The blend knob allows you to mix the pickups to your liking—add more neck pickup for a touch of warmth, or dial up the bridge pickup for more edge. The 5-string Jackson HiMass™ bridge sharpens your notes' attack for extra punch and clarity, offering enhanced sustain without significantly altering the bass's fundamental tone.
Available in Quicksilver or Satin Black, this low-end leviathan proudly displays distinctive Jackson style; all-black hardware, including everything from the bridge to the Jackson sealed die-cast tuning machines, durable gloss finish, pearloid sharkfin fingerboard inlays, single-ply white neck binding, and Jackson’s signature pointed 5-in-line headstock with a silver "Fallout" logo and Ellefson’s signature embossed on the truss rod cover.
