The elegant alder body shape is familiar—straight from the original Charvel San Dimas basses of the late 1970s, with the deeper cutaway that gave adventurous bassists effortless access to the upper registers.
The ultra-thin bolt-on Charvel Speed maple neck is crafted in the original style, with a beautiful caramelized treatment, graphite reinforcement, and a heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel for easy adjustment. The 12"-16" compound radius caramelized maple fingerboard flattens out gradually from the nut to the heel for fast, fluid playing, and features rolled edges, 20 jumbo frets, and Luminlay® side dots.
And like the originals, the Pro-Mod San Dimas® Bass PJ IV features the powerful voice of DiMarzio® pickups—a J™ model at the bridge for well-balanced punch and a P® model in the middle for a warm, thick tone with a mid-range growl when pushed. The versatile electronics include a three-band active EQ, a pickup blend control, and a master volume control with a push/pull selector. The push/pull selector eliminates the risk of sound loss due to a dead battery, as a quick pull on the volume knob bypasses the active EQ circuit and regains the bass's sound without using battery power.
A Charvel HiMass™ bridge, Graph Tech® TUSQ® XL nut, and open-gear tuners combine for exceptional tuning stability with improved note punch and sustain.
This 4-string bass is presented in electrifying Lime Green Metallic and Mystic Blue finishes with chrome hardware, cream pickup covers, and a licensed Fender® Precision Bass® headstock shape.
