In early 2024, Mark Sampson, co-founder of the boutique amp movement and the mind behind some of the industry's most iconic designs, returned to Bad Cat. Among the projects he chose to revisit is the Black Cat. The result is a brilliant revision of one of our award-winning amplifiers.
Mark had a gift for seeing deeper into a circuit, knowing what to change and what to leave alone, guided by a lifetime of experimentation, invention, and an obsessive pursuit of tone. The Mod Shop Black Cat 30 is one of the latest chapters in that story: a limited-edition, hand-crafted amplifier that blends Bad Cat's roots with a bold new voice.
