Only Vintage
The Warm Audio Centavo is a faithful recreation of one of the most inaccessible overdrive pedals in guitar history. Known for its boost and overdrive sounds, the craze for this ultra-popular pedal continues today, long after its original production from 1994 to 2009. With prices reaching unimaginable heights for a three-knob overdrive, it It's no wonder guitarists like Jeff Beck, Joe Perry, John Mayer and Josh Homme found all the legendary magic of the original pedals worth using. The Warm Audio Centavo is a true-to-the-original overdrive pedal that authentically recreates the legendary experience and beloved tones of the legendary original.
Legacy at your feet
Whether you're looking for legendary boost sounds, borderline-breaking overdrive, or want to push your rhythm channel to the limit, the Centavo has all the beloved sounds of the original pedal. The Centavo is comfortable as a boost pedal, but the saturation in the highest gain settings provides a platform for true "transparent" overdriven rhythm sounds. The addition of a rear "MOD" switch - requested by Jeff Beck on the original pedal - allows players to extend the bass response, impacting the lower strings to achieve lower drive sounds.
Pedal adjustments and controls
The Centavo has three basic controls on top - Gain, Treble, and Output. The Centavo's gain cuts off quite late, with a break-off limit after 50% and true clipping occurring at the end of the gain stage. The treble control is useful for boosting the top end for muddier guitars, like dual-humbucker models or all-mahogany instruments. The Centavo is output loaded and can easily provide a clean boost or create natural distortion if your amplifier tubes are already stressed. Enabling the MOD switch on the rear is a great tool at your disposal if the overdrive initially sounds "thin" in the lower register.
