Danmar Percussion Products was founded by Frank DeVito in 1970. After years of playing behind some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Frank Sinatra, Elvis, The Beach Boys, Sonny & Cher, The Monkees, Herb Alpert, The Benny Goodman Orchestra, and as a recording artist with the Baja Marimba Band, to name a few, Frank found that many commercially manufactured drum parts were not sufficient. He therefore began developing his own. Finding that his own designs worked so well, he created his own company, Danmar, to make them available to drummers around the world.
