The A7V monitor from the A Series represents the evolution of the A7X, ADAM Audio’s award-winning flagship model. This two-way speaker combines a new 18 cm (7-inch) Multi-Layer Mineral (MLM) fiber woofer and the ADAM Audio hand-crafted, precision X-ART tweeter to provide a wide frequency response of 41 Hz to 42 kHz. Rotatable HPS waveguide technology and integrated DSP-based tuning options make it easy to optimize the A7V for the specific acoustic requirements of your room and your preferences. For many artists, sound engineers, and producers, the A7V will be the ideal model in the A Series.
Rotatable HPS Waveguide and X-ART Tweeter
ADAM Audio's HPS (High-Frequency Propagation System) waveguide technology allows tweeters to disperse sound with controlled consistency: broad on the horizontal axis and highly precise in the vertical plane. The A Series debuts a rotatable HPS waveguide. You can rotate A Series tweeters by 90-degree increments to continue to benefit from HPS waveguide technology, whether your speakers are positioned horizontally or vertically.
The A Series HPS waveguide is made from a new glass fiber polymer compound that helps create a clear sound, free of unwanted resonances. The ADAM Audio X-ART tweeter is at the heart of this rotatable HPS waveguide. Hand-built in Germany, the X-ART tweeter provides a precise transient response and reproduces the finest sonic details. This X-ART tweeter is used in every A Series speaker, providing a detailed, consistent sound across the entire range.
Multi-Layer Mineral Woofer
A Series woofers are constructed from a unique blend of mineral stone fibers baked together to create a lightweight and extremely stable material. The mineral composition, layering, and geometry of each cone are specific to the driver used in each model. By combining this material with a new magnet system, A Series woofers produce high output with low distortion, for clean and punchy bass.
Hybrid Amplification
The A Series combines the best of the digital and analog worlds. The woofers are driven by Class D amplifiers which help produce linear performance while reducing distortion. These amplifiers were selected for their power and efficiency, in terms of both energy consumption and sound reproduction. Low heat dissipation allows for the use of a more compact heat sink, which facilitated further investment in the exceptional power and performance of the A Series.
Tweeters and mid-range drivers are powered by Class AB amplifiers which offer a smooth, natural reproduction of high frequencies. Each amplifier is optimized for its operating range, resulting in a finely tuned and aligned speaker. To achieve this, ADAM Audio conducted numerous measurements and listening sessions, testing a wide range of amplifiers and components.
Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Electronics
The A Series leverages the transformative power of DSP-based electronics to provide greater tuning precision and predictability than analog speakers. With firmware that can be updated via an Ethernet connection, you will over time receive the latest DSP capabilities from ADAM Audio, including new filter types and features, as well as alternative voicings.
Room Adaptation
On the back of the A Series speakers, you will find four bands of room adaptation equalization: Bass, Desk, Presence, and Treble. Each band is adjustable in pre-defined steps, offering more than 100 tuning options to help compensate for typical acoustic problems related to speaker placement.
Voicings
A "Voicing" is a pre-defined sound profile for A Series monitors. On the back panel, you will find two options: "UNR" and "Pure". The "Ext" option is dedicated to the extended functionality offered by A Control via the Ethernet connection.
"UNR" or "Uniform Natural Response™" is a dynamic and natural-sounding curve, an ADAM Audio exclusive design originating from many of the company’s iconic products, including the previous AX Series. It is well-suited for production, composition, and songwriting, as its immersive and present sound fosters creativity and inspiration. It is also a great choice for simply enjoying music through your speakers.
"Pure" is an option that provides a highly accurate and neutral sound. This "flat" setting is ideal for mixing and mastering, where it is critical to pay attention to every detail and rely on a faithful reproduction of sound from your speakers.
The "Ext" option is dedicated to the extended functionality offered by A Control via the Ethernet connection. Using the six-band EQ in A Control, it is possible to create a custom voicing and apply it to the monitor.
A Control (Real-Time Remote Control)
The DSP-based functionality of all A Series monitors can be controlled remotely and in real time over Ethernet using the free A Control software. The software is available for download for Windows and macOS at MyADAM.

Once downloaded and installed, the software allows you to control multiple speakers simultaneously and precisely adjust the EQ and delay from different listening positions in your studio. While working, you can remotely control monitor levels if you are away from a physical console or interface. This remote control capability is particularly useful in multi-purpose rooms, allowing you to ensure that the sound, EQ, and other settings are exactly as you need them to be.
Room Correction and Sonarworks Integration
A Series speakers are designed to adapt to changing needs, preferences, and environments. Using the A Control software, you can apply advanced filters directly to an embedded platform on the monitors to help compensate for imperfect acoustics in the room. This embedded platform supports filters from third-party leader Sonarworks. Using Sonarworks software and a measurement microphone, you can calibrate your speakers to a new room or for your changing tastes.
Bass Reflex System, Cabinets, and Mounting
The new A Series cabinets build on the heritage of ADAM Audio, and the AX Series in particular. Featuring a more modern design, A Series cabinets have deeper beveled edges to further reduce diffraction. Additionally, thicker baffle walls strengthen the cabinets and reduce internal vibrations, while a flared port design optimizes airflow and reduces port noise. All A Series speakers include a mounting interface on the bottom, giving you the flexibility to mount them wherever you need them.
