Yamaha's standard acoustic model, with a simple, traditional look, exceptional quality, at an affordable price. A solid top guitar with an authentic sound that is well balanced without sacrificing its robustness, thanks to its new scalloped bracing design. Can be confidently recommended to all beginner guitarists. The small and thin body is perfect not only for female and junior players, but also for middle to senior players who are raising their fingers.
Newly developed scalloped bracing
A new FG delivers louder, louder bass and midrange sound, thanks to cutting-edge acoustic analysis technology developed by Yamaha's R&D division. Yamahas engineers achieved this sound by using analysis and simulation to arrive at the best bracing design without relying on tradition or guesswork. This analysis led to the development of the new Scalloped Bracing model, an ideal new acoustic structure that maintains the durability of the top board while bringing out the most sound that the Yamaha FG has to offer.
50 years of history
The history of Yamahas FG series began in 1966 with the release of the FG180 and FG150. In the 50 years since its introduction, we have developed and produced several generations of FG, all of which have made FG the ideal acoustic for contemporary musicians. In total, there have been over 200 FG models since 1966.
Made in Yamaha
Every aspect of an FG is designed to make a better guitar. From carefully seasoned and cured woods to beautiful hand-sprayed finishes and detailed quality controls, every FG is made to be a lifelong partner.
Nato/Okume Back and sides
Mahogany-like sound characteristics Warm and rich midrange.
Comfort and creativity
The body of the FS model is 10mm thinner than the FG model, providing increased comfort and playability without loss of volume or bass. Having an easier-to-hold body makes the FS more attractive to beginners and smaller guitarists, including female players. Additionally, the small dimensions and low propensity for feedback make FS guitars ideal for use on stage.
