Made in partnership with the Gibson™ Custom Shop, the limited-edition Explorer 1958™ is Epiphone's impressive recreation of one of the most famous and valuable vintage guitars ever made. It introduces the authentic details of the 1958 model to guitarists around the world at a revolutionary price. Like the ultra-rare original Gibsons from 1958, it features a limba (korina) body and neck. The latter has a long tenon and offers the original profile. It also features an Indian laurel fingerboard and gold-finish hardware. The electronics are also top-notch: Gibson Burstbucker™ 2 and Burstbucker 3 pickups (each wired to a volume control), master tone control, CTS® pots, Mallory™ condenser, and 3-way Switchcraft® selector switch. Additionally, an "Epiphone-Gibson" logo is proudly displayed on the back of the neck headstock and a hardshell case is included.
