Our new thermo-spun nylon string models are created using a revolutionary technique that transforms select woods into "aged" tonewoods. The woods are vacuum-heated with a special treatment to remove water and resin. The result is a lighter, harder, and stronger wood—a process that normally takes decades—that still retains sensational response and tone. The process makes the spruce tops glow like amber, providing an added vintage aesthetic.
