Known for his incredible funk skills and inventive work, guitarist, producer and arranger Cory Wong has earned a loyal following through his soulful playing with Vulfpeck, as well as his Grammy-nominated solo work Awards, which allowed him to perform to sold-out arenas. The Cory Wong Stratocaster® is a tribute to Cory's favorite Fender®, carefully modified to meet the funk master's needs.
The satin lacquer finish recreates the look and feel of Cory's beloved original Strat®, while the scaled-down alder body - slightly smaller than a typical Strat - paired with the American Ultra™ Modern "D" neck and Sculpted body contours provide a sublimely comfortable gaming experience. A set of Seymour Duncan® Cory Wong Clean Machine™ pickups deliver the Strat's classic quack and chime, finely tuned to achieve its distinctive tone.
Other features include a maple neck with a subtly modified head shape, rosewood fingerboard with rolled edges and a 10-14" compound radius, vintage-style 6-bolt synchronized tremolo, deluxe locked tuners that offer better tuning stability and easy string changes, and a push/push knob on Tone 2 which bypasses the 5-way switch and defaults to "Position 4". Cory Wong's hair (to cut the tremolo springs to get Cory's rhythm sound), a set of rubber washers, and a custom neck plate.
