Optimize Speaker Placement and Focus
An important aspect of speaker stand design is the ability to adjust the height and tilt angle of the supported speaker to optimize its position relative to the listener and eliminate sound wave reflections from the supporting surface.
In a typical desktop Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) setup, the listener is positioned 3 to 4 feet from the monitors with ear level about 20″ above the work surface. Under these circumstances, it is possible to raise and tilt the monitors into the optimal position using IsoAcoustics stands.

Smearing is the result of artifacts reproduced in both channels that are perceived as being in the middle, causing the stereo image to collapse.
