The Diezel Zerrer is a two-channel preamp in pedal format, usable as a distortion pedal in front of an amp, as a practice amp, or as a direct amp in the studio. It offers the aggressive tones and characteristic features of Diezel. A stereo headphone output allows it to be used as a practice amp. Additionally, a stereo auxiliary input allows for connecting external backing tracks. The versatility of the Zerrer is unmatched: it's like having a Diezel amp head in a compact, portable format for practicing, recording, and playing live in front of any clean amplifier.
Channel 1 Clean/Dirty: This channel features independent EQ and a separate gain control to adjust the level of distortion and achieve saturated rhythms or crystalline clean sounds.
Channel 2 Heavy/Lead: This channel offers more gain than channel 1, making it ideal for aggressive modern rhythms and cutting solos.
Master Volume: As on Diezel amps, a master volume allows you to control the overall level of both channels.
Presence Control: This control adjusts the brightness or attenuation of both channels, adding crystalline highs for punchy clean sounds and an extra touch of brilliance to your solos.
Depth Control: This control adds thickness to your sound. It is particularly effective when using the Zerrer in front of a clean-sounding amp that may sound thin.
Guitar Input: 1/4" jack for plugging in your guitar.
Amp Output: 1/4" jack output to the amp.
Effects Loop: This loop allows you to plug any processor or effects pedal into the back of the Zerrer, making the device completely self-contained for use in live or studio settings.
Stereo Direct Output: This output features a high-quality speaker emulator that allows you to record directly from the device, giving you all the sonic richness of a Diezel amp.
Stereo Headphone Input: 1/4" jack input for any stereo headphones, allowing for practice or recording in silence without external speakers.
External Switch Input – The Zerrer also features an input for an external switch compatible with any toggle switch to turn the device on and off. This allows the user to place the device in a rack or near the amplifier while retaining the ability to switch it on and off.
Switches: 10 high-quality switches for a maximum number of channels per bank.
LEDs: Ultra-bright blue LEDs indicate the active channel.
Chassis: Its robust steel construction makes it virtually indestructible on the road.
Connectivity: MIDI connection for use with the VH4 or any MIDI amplifier. XLR connection also available for use with the Herbert amplifier.
