Introducing the Muse Driver, Andy Timmons' new full-range saturation pedal. This is an overdrive unit that lets you orchestrate everything from a clean boost to a treble saturation, from a smoking tube amp overdrive to a square wave, to a fuzz generator germanium, and many other things.
The Muse Driver combines a three-control blues overdrive circuit with two switches for harmonization of saturation and timbre characteristics. Robert and Andy developed these switches to give you a wide range of tones.
Set the Drive selector to AT Clipping – this mode features asymmetric clipping of the LEDs and is Andy's Super AT Mod sound, delivering a clear, more articulate attack. Setting the Drive switch down (RK clipping) activates two germanium diodes for a smoother, slightly compressed saturation that can sound a bit like a retro fuzz pedal with a less harsh feel.
In the AT position, the tone control provides Andy's preferred timbre and bass response. Every note in a chord is clear and articulate. The RK position features the legendary Phat Boost which provides a lower frequency response, perfect for pushing vintage or single-coil pickups.
Every element of the circuit has been optimized for the sonic and demanding needs of touring and studio artists like Andy Timmons. Simply adding the Muse Driver to your pedalboard will make your gear sound better. This professional-quality overdrive effect can be switched between True Bypass and Buffered Bypass at any time.
