The Radial JDI is quite simply the best passive DI in the world.
It has been optimized to be able to support high amplitude signals without saturating or distorting the signal. Because it is equipped with a Jensen transformer, the JDI perfectly isolates the instrument input from the balanced output, while eliminating parasitic noise caused by ground loops.
Most passive adapter boxes don't sound the way you want them to because they use low-end steel or metal transformers. This has the effect of causing phase shifts at different frequencies: indistinct bass, no attack, lifeless midrange. This makes mixing more difficult to achieve.
The JDI uses a transformer with a nickel center. Nickel has no memory effect or polarity, which reduces phase and harmonic distortions. Problems solved: great sound!
The JDI does not require any power supply. “Plug’n play”! The JDI is available in stereo version (JDI Duplex), in 6 channel version (JD6) and can be rack mounted (up to 8 in a 2U rack) using the J-Rak.
