The McBoost is a high-performance microphone signal booster designed to raise the output level of a dynamic microphone to ensure better response. It also allows you to over-amplify the signal from a mic with a low output level, especially ribbon mics, to a level sufficient to attack a mixing console or preamp lacking gain.
The McBoost's class A circuit, designed around two calibrated and matched J-FET transistors, allows you to obtain a gain of 25 dB without increasing the noise level, without sound coloration or artifacts! The metal chassis specific to Radial products provides exceptional protection to the components, making it suitable for live and touring applications.
Very easy to use, you just need to place the McBoost between the microphone and the console, connect it via two XLR cables and activate the phantom power to power it! It has an impedance selector (600, 2.7 K and 30 K ohms) to optimize the frequency response and a 3-position high-pass filter to reduce parasitic low frequencies.
Versatile and robust, the McBoost allows you to open up the sound of your dynamic microphone, and use it with long cable lengths: essential for broadcast or on-stage applications.
