Each two-channel all-tube module is equipped with two 12AX7 tubes and incorporates the exact preamp circuit of the legendary amplifier that inspired it. In most cases, the Synergy module offers more features than the original amp. Synergy's engineering team works closely with each partner brand to design modules that faithfully reproduce the sound of their famous amplifier model.
NEXT-LEVEL POWER CONTROL
The SYN-20IR 1×12" combo amp features unique STRUCTURE and REACTANCE settings to adjust the response of its fully analog power section. The revolutionary STRUCTURE function optimizes the amp head for each channel by offering three distinct power amplifier and feedback configurations, assignable to each of the amp's channels. The STRUCTURE function significantly alters the overall profile and character of the SYN-20IR 1×12" combo amp.
Three Structure modes are available:
Mode A: Balanced negative feedback for a clean and punchy sound.
Mode B: Vintage-style phase inverter with smooth mids and bright, crystal-clear highs.
Mode C: Modern Hi-Fi-style phase inverter and low negative feedback resistance for a modern and precise sound, with solid lows and deeper highs.
The REACTANCE function is similar to a presence knob, but with a dynamic response and a variable phase inverter that simultaneously sculpts the mid and high frequencies. This powerful control allows you to tailor the sound to the selected module and Structure setting.
3-BUTTON MIDI FOOTSWITCH – MIDI CONTROL
The SYN-20IR 1×12" combo amp comes with an easy-to-use 3-button MIDI footswitch that allows you to save and access any combination of channels, amp structures, and onboard impulse responses. With a simple tap of your foot, you can, for example, switch from your module's high-gain saturation (with a 4x12 impulse response and structure mode C) to the amp's built-in clean channel (via a vintage 1x12 impulse response and the open-sounding structure mode A).
You can also connect external MIDI switchers and controllers, giving you access to 128 custom presets. The included Synergy Editor software makes it easy to assign and organize your presets for maximum flexibility.
