Simply sophisticated
With the 200 Series, BOSS introduces a new generation of pedals that deliver advanced tone and versatility in an aerodynamic format that saves space on your board. Hook-up and release controls and multi-function switches make use easy and intuitive, while on-board memories allow you to store multiple settings for instant recall. All 200 Series pedals feature premium audio quality with 32-bit AD/DA, 32-bit internal processing and 96kHz sample rate, plus additional control via external switches, footswitch expression or MIDI.
The OD-200 Hybrid Drive brings next-level sound, feel, and overdrive and distortion flexibility, combining decades of BOSS tonal expertise with innovative technologies. Powered by a hybrid analog/digital circuit, this dream pedal delivers every tone you can imagine via 12 primary modes, 15 boost types, series/parallel gain channels, and more. There's even an advanced gate on board, ideal for both eliminating noise and adding seal to high-gain driving tones.
Premium drive tones with BOSS's advanced hybrid design
The OD-200's next-generation hybrid design seamlessly brings analog and digital crossover circuitry together for the best of all worlds, putting a universe of expressive drive colors under your fingertips. Twelve modes deliver a variety of premium overdrive, fuzz, and distortion sounds, including a high-gain Brown mode derived from the popular Katana amplifier series. And with three high-performance "X" drive modes, powered by BOSS's cutting-edge MDP technology, you'll experience enhanced definition, clarity and dynamic response that's ideal for modern playing styles .
Powerful gain shape with series and parallel boost
While each of the OD-200's 12 main drive modes sounds fantastic on its own, you can create even more sophisticated sounds with 15 switchable amplifier circuits. Placing the boost in series allows you to create traditional stacked vocals, with a post-gain level to balance with the bypassed sound or increase the volume for solos. The boost circuit can also be used in parallel with the main mode, allowing side-by-side mixing for an unlimited range of unique workout textures.
Eliminate noise and firm up your tone
With its built-in gate circuit, the OD-200 always keeps your signal clear and quiet when you're not playing. The default setting is a great place to start, offering a smooth, transparent grid that works well for general playstyles. The decay and threshold controls can also be adjusted for lightning-fast gate performance when needed, perfect for bringing tightness to heavy modern styles that combine full-throttle gain and precision staccato riffing.
Dial entry rings fast
The OD-200 offers a ton of advanced features, but remains as simple to use as any regular distortion. With dedicated controls, you can quickly dial in the gain and overall level for any selected mode, then sculpt the tone with wide-range low, mid, and high EQ. There is also a multi-function parameter button that changes operation depending on the selected group with the panel parameter switch and LED status indicators.
Save and recall your favorite configurations
After perfecting the tone with the dimmer, boost and gate settings, simply save the entire configuration to one of the four onboard memories for quick recall while running. There's also a manual setting that reflects the current state of the panel, allowing you to choose an additional drive configuration on the fly. You can cycle through memories using an OD-200 footswitch, and it's also possible to limit the scrolling range or assign memories directly for even faster access.
Deep real-time control
By default, the OD-200's multifunction footswitches control bypass, boost on/off, and memory scrolling, but you can easily reassign them to other functions if necessary. External control of almost every parameter is possible using footswitches or an expression pedal, and MIDI I/O is even available on the space-saving TRS mini-jacks. Using MIDI, you can chain together multiple 200 Series pedals and select memories on each at once, and also control various functions from MIDI devices like the ES-8 and ES-5 effect selectors .
