Each input is routed to an output channel, and each output features a bypass switch. The level controls allow you to mix each input and offer 15 dB of headroom. Unity gain is at 10 o'clock, at the non-blackened circle. The ABY MIX runs on a standard 9 V power supply and can be powered by a 9 V battery if needed.
Below you will find an example configuration for recording/live performance, with instrument switching. For recording, you can connect your instrument to an amp and an audio interface to capture both your amp's sound and an isolated signal for digital modeling or re-amping. In concert, you can easily switch between instruments and amplifiers, or connect the additional output to a PA system.
In our second example, you can use the ABY MIX to play two instruments simultaneously. It is a simple solution for teaching a guitar lesson through the same amp or jamming with a friend. The level control allows you to modulate the signal of each instrument, so regardless of the output level of each guitar's pickups, you can achieve the ideal volume. Some dual-output instruments, like a harp, can be easily mixed into a single output.
