Mini-Humbucker Neck

The introduction of the mini humbucker in the late 1960s met a growing need for a buzz-free P-90-sized pickup. Gibsons world-class engineers set out to create a smaller, more compact humbucker to fit in the slot of a P-90. With its small size, narrow magnetic field and unique design combination, the mini humbucker produces a bright and focused output, while maintaining the performance of Gibsons famous humbucker. The mini humbucker was first available in several Gibson Epiphone models of the late 1960s, then in the Les Paul Deluxe in 1969. Today, it is best known as the pickup of the Gibson Firebird, and is a vintage replica of the original mini humbucker with Alnico II bar magnets. The Gibson mini humbucker is authentic in every detail, from its cream-colored plastic mount and coated enameled wire, to its maple spacers and vintage braided lead wire. The tone is unmistakably Gibson. The mini humbucker is available for bridge or neck position, and is equipped with two-conductor braided wiring and fully wax coated to eliminate microphonic feedback.
