Blumes® Jr MOSFET Mod
Limited Edition “Low Signal Shredder”
The Blumes® Jr MOSFET Mod, limited edition “Low Signal Shredder,” offers a new take on our original Blumes® Low Signal Shredder pedal, housed in a “junior” format enclosure ideal for pedalboards. Like the original model, this compact pedal delivers tube-style saturation with three distinct clipping modes, but with one major difference: the third mode (labeled “M”) has been replaced by a new MOSFET clipping mode. This mode produces rich, well-defined harmonics, enhanced bass, and dynamic response comparable to that of a modern high-gain tube amp.

Mode L
Symmetrical LED clipping using a pair of light-emitting diodes. This is the crunchiest setting available on the Blumes. The signal is less compressed and much more open, with plenty of headroom for when you really want to let loose.

Mode N
Pure op-amp gain mode. Here, the clipping diodes are completely removed from the circuit, leaving the op-amp to generate the saturation entirely. This mode offers the highest output level and the fullest frequency response; it can be used as a clean boost when the gain control is set below 11 o’clock.

Mode M
We have replaced the asymmetrical silicon diode configuration—similar to that found in classic “Screamer” pedals—with a MOSFET clipping mode. The result is bold, open, and smooth saturation rich in harmonics, with bite reminiscent of a tube amp pushed to its limits.

Clipping modes (3-way selector):

L: Symmetrical LED clipping—crunchy, compressed, mid-focused, and precise.

N: No clipping—direct op-amp saturation, ideal for a clean boost.

M: MOSFET clipping—rich in harmonics and well-defined, with more bass and dynamics approaching those of a modern high-gain tube amp.
Level: Controls the output volume.

Gain: Controls the amount of saturation.

Tone: More bass to the left, more mids in the center, and more treble to the right. Mode L
Symmetrical LED clipping using a pair of light-emitting diodes. This is the crunchiest setting available on the Blumes. The signal is less compressed and much more open, with plenty of headroom for when you really want to let loose.

Mode N
Pure, transparent op-amp boost mode. Here, the clipping diodes are completely removed from the circuit, leaving the op-amp to generate the saturation entirely. This mode offers the highest output level and the fullest frequency response; it can be used as a clean boost when the Gain control is set below 11 o’clock.

Clipping modes (3-way selector):

L: Symmetrical LED clipping—crunchy, compressed, mid-focused, and well-defined.

N: No clipping—op-amp saturation, very open, ideal for a clean boost.

Switching

This device uses mechanical true-bypass switching technology.

Power supply

This device requires a standard 9 V DC power supply with a center-negative jack (2.1 mm diameter). We strongly recommend using a power supply designed for effects pedals, equipped with an isolation transformer, or an isolated multi-output power supply. An unstable or “noisy” power supply can generate unwanted interference. Switching power supplies, daisy chains, and power supplies not specifically designed for pedals filter noise from the mains less effectively and can let unwanted noise through. DO NOT USE HIGHER VOLTAGES!
