Unlike traditional overdrive pedals, the VH4 pedal is a true preamp that faithfully reproduces the original Diezel sound, without emulation or modeling. Its signal architecture is identical to the original: the Bass, Mid, Treble, Deep, and Presence controls allow you to sculpt the unique character of the Diezel overdrive. The Gain control offers a complete tonal palette, from low gain levels producing the characteristic Diezel shimmer and crystalline tone to medium-gain saturated sounds, and up to the incisive solos typical of the brand when pushing the gain to the maximum.
As close as the original VH4 preamp, the VH4 pedal can be used as an overdrive or as a standalone preamp to drive the power stage of your amp. By plugging it directly into the power amp, you benefit from all the dynamics and purity of the Diezel sound by simply connecting it to the clean channel of your amp. Two outputs are available: the first is designed to be connected to the input of a guitar amplifier, and the second allows for connection to a line-level power preamp or to the power stage of your amp via the Effects Return input.
