For over twelve years, Victory has built a solid reputation by providing guitarists with exceptional tones through a diverse and high-performance range: from the Duchess to the Kraken, the Copper to the Sheriff, and many more.
In 2024, Victory launched Martin Kidd's ultimate guitar amplifier: the MK Overdrive. This amp is inspired by Martin's most famous and beloved original tones from the past three decades. The MK OD was quickly hailed by customers, artists, and the specialized press as one of the best amps ever designed.
While the MK OD featured a luxurious, no-compromise design and numerous visual customization levels, the MKX takes the very essence of the MK OD into a more compact format at a more competitive price point. Still handcrafted in the UK to Victory's exacting standards of excellence, it is designed and priced for professional musicians worldwide.
Featuring three channels (Clean, OD1, and OD2), independent gain, volume, and EQ sections, two master volumes, and two different types of reverb, each with its own level and decay settings, this 50-watt "lunchbox" tube amp is packed with features.
Drawing inspiration from previous models while adding new features that give the MKX its own identity, it is the culmination of years of development and expertise from the Victory team and is undoubtedly the most versatile Victory "lunchbox" amplifier to date.
CLEAN CHANNEL
Offering the full palette of clean tones, the MKX delivers a bright, crystal-clear sound with its own EQ, gain, and level settings. Ideal for all styles, from funky chords to jazz standards and much more... Higher gain settings allow for tones that approach saturation.
OD1 – THE CLASSIC VICTORY CRUNCH
With separate Clean and Overdrive channels, this overdrive channel offers two gain modes: Gain 1 for Crunch and Rhythm sounds, and Gain 2 for extreme saturation.
OD2 – ALL LEAD AND HIGH-GAIN SOUNDS
Solos with instant sustain, the most powerful riffs without sacrificing tone or definition. Standard tuning, drop tuning, or any tuning of your choice. The OD2 channel has its own gain control and shares the EQ and level control with the OD1 channel.
TUBE COMPLEMENT
The MKX is equipped with 3 ECC83 preamp tubes and 2 EL34 power tubes.
TWO MASTER VOLUMES
Need a versatile output stage? Or a volume boost on any of the three channels? It's possible thanks to the two master volumes activated by the included footswitch.
DUAL REVERB
We knew that a single type of reverb wouldn't be enough for our new flagship model, so we included two. Reverb I is a classic vintage spring reverb, perfect for achieving authentic tones. Reverb II is a modern reverb inspired by the Deputy, offering a sonic palette ranging from subtle ambience to total, shimmering immersion. Each reverb type features level and decay settings, allowing for the perfect balance of ambience and versatility.
HIGH/LOW OUTPUT POWER
As with all Victory lunchbox amp heads, switchable output gives you a choice between different power and sonic characteristics. For the MKX, the high output power is 50 watts RMS and the low output power is 9 watts RMS.
REAR PANEL
Features include an effects loop, bias points, and more. The included footswitch allows for selection of channel, OD1/2, Master 1/2, and reverb.
