The Duchess you know and love, even more versatile.
When developing the Duchess MKII, we made sure not to stray too far from what made the original range a success. In terms of sound, the Duchess remains the reference amplifier for everything from clean tones to the brightest highs, and the ideal pedalboard platform. Additionally, we drew inspiration from some of our most recent products: we added new tonal switching functions from the MK Clean series and updated the reverb circuits to include the same Accutronics Spring Tank as the MK Clean.
Voice switch
Increased tonal flexibility is now offered thanks to a new 3-position voice switch, allowing you to adapt to all types of pickups and playing styles. Each successive selection increases the richness of the low-mid frequencies via the treble setting.
Mid kick
This popular feature from the original Duchess range has been extended to include three levels of dynamic mid-range correction:
Position I: Standard response
Position II: Low-mid boost
Position III: Extra gain in the high-mids
Valve-driven spring reverb
We have integrated a three-spring, medium-decay Accutronics tank, driven by valves, identical to that of our flagship model, the MK Clean. This system can also be switched on/off via the included footswitch.
Valve tremolo
An authentic valve tremolo tops it all off. Featuring speed and depth controls, it is ideal for classic sounds.
Low power mode
The front-mounted power switch offers a low power mode of approximately 7 watts. This mode is ideal for home and studio use, and even quiet stages with in-ear monitors. Or... simply crank the amp and enjoy extra power at low volumes and incredible compression.
Series effects loop
The hard-bypassable effects loop allows you to use delays, reverbs, etc., after the amp's preamp section to maintain a clean sound. The V40 Deluxe uses a post-phase inverter master volume. If the sound is not as clean as desired, try lowering the pedal's mix/output, especially when turning up the amp's master volume.
