The DFP-9500D is a direct-drive dual pedal, with a solid cast link between the rocker shaft and footrests. Direct drive "pushes back" the footpegs when rebounding, allowing the pedal to respond more quickly. Many drummers who play heel-down prefer the feel of a straight drive.
The DFP-9500D has adjustments for beater angle, footboard angle, and spring tension. The pedal frames have stabilizer bars placed under the rocker arm axles to eliminate flex. This helps keep the bearings in alignment and gives the pedal a smooth feel.
The hole in the beater hubs is shaped like teardrops so it securely holds the beater shafts and prevents the new two-sided beaters from spinning. The new beater is made of felt on one side and hard plastic on the other. The side-adjustable hoop clamp firmly holds hoops of different thicknesses and tightens with a toggle bolt.
The DFP-9500D comes in a soft hard case to keep universal joints, whips and pedals together for transport.
