Acapulco Gold®
Power amp distortion
The Acapulco Gold is a very simple distortion device inspired by the sound of a vintage Model T hand-cranked amplifier, bringing the openness, clarity and crunch that only a tube amp can provide, at a fraction of the size and without expensive maintenance fees!

Since the tone is in the hands, we decided to keep the Acapulco Gold's controls as simple as possible. The footswitch turns the pedal on and off and the giant knob controls the output volume. That's it. The rest is within reach. Do you want less gain? Turn down the volume knob on your guitar. Need a darker rhythm sound? Reduce the tone control on your guitar. Easy, right?

Big Knob: The large knob adjusts the output level, sometimes called Volume. BE CAREFUL, the Acapulco Gold is extremely noisy!

With your guitar volume turned up to maximum, the Acapulco Gold roars like a wide-open Model T on the verge of explosion. Barely back off, the Gold goes into blistering overdrive. At the guitar's minimum volume settings, the Acapulco Gold delivers a hazy, Nashville-sounding spank to your sound.

What do you say to that? If your guitar has separate volume and tone controls for each pickup and a three-way selector switch, this little one-knob banger becomes a three-channel tone monster in no time!

Switching

This device is a true bypass and uses relay-based electronic switching. Audio will not come through without power.
Power

This device can be powered by a 9v battery or a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. We always recommend pedal specific transformer isolated wall power supplies or isolated multiple output power supplies. The pedals will make extra noise if there is ripple or dirty power. Switching power supplies, daisy chains, and non-pedal-specific power supplies also don't filter dirty power and let unwanted noise through. DO NOT OPERATE AT HIGHER VOLTAGES!
