Ghost Echo™
Vintage Reverb
You hear that EVP, buddy? It's the all-new, extra-scary Ghost Echo calling from beyond the void! The Ghost Echo is our spooky take on the haunted* spring reverb units of yesteryear. This spooky analog/digital spring reverb emulation machine features a terrifying 30ms - 150ms pre-delay, controllable via the Attack knob, for everything from fast-paced rockabilly slapback to viscous pools of ectoplasmic reverbs. When playing staccato, you'll hear the tortured streaks of reverb, making it more of a slapback or echo sound. Legato playing will reveal massive ambient "depth" that fattens the sound - and watch out, it's right behind you!
Phew, that was close. The Dwell control sets the length and thickness of the decay, that is, it controls how long the disembodied spirits of notes that are no longer with us float in the ether. At the maximum setting, it will descend in an infinite loop of self-oscillation. Depth sets the intensity of the reverb, which you probably know as a wet/dry mix, but we prefer to think of it as how spooky the overall effect is.
*Not actually haunted. Where are they?
1. Attack: Adjusts the duration of the pre-delay, from 30 ms minimum to approximately 150 ms maximum. When the Dwell is set to self-oscillate, this will change the pitch of the oscillations.
2. Dwell: Adjusts the decay duration. This will begin to self-oscillate around 3 o'clock, the height of the oscillations can be changed by rotating the Attack control.
3. Depth: Mixes the processed signal with the dry signal, the unit is around noon and everything is boosted after.
