The HQ231 Dual 31-band graphic equalizer is perfect for all live sound applications where there is high feedback potential, including monitor mixes, side-fill loudspeakers or front-of-house mixes of major power.

The HQ231 is equipped with ART's exclusive FDC (Feedback Detection Circuit), with a constant Q circuit capable of providing 3% center frequency accuracy. Professional features such as LED level metering, 6dB or 12dB fader range, balanced and unbalanced active input and output connectors, RFI filters, Hi Pass (low cut) and Low Pass filters (high-cut) independent variables, a variable input level control, a passive bypass switch, a clamp level meter, a Groundlift switch and a selectable switch for mains voltage make the system ideal for any application or professional touring.

FDC feedback detection circuit

FDC (Feedback Detection Circuitry - designed and developed by ART Engineering) instantly lights an LED on the corresponding EQ band fader with the most sustained signal. LED indicators can immediately indicate which band corresponds to the feedback frequency, allowing the audio engineer to reduce the gain in that band to quickly kill feedback while having minimal impact on the sound of the program material in question. direct.

The FDC also acts as a mere spectator of the spectrum as the concert continues showing where the "hot" areas are. During system setup and sound check, the FDC can be used to help identify room and PA system resonances. By increasing the gain to feedback, it is easy to identify frequencies that may be problematic. Reducing the gain in these bands helps tune the sound system and eliminate problem areas before the show begins. It also allows you to increase the gain margin before the feedback effect.

Filtering at constant Q

The HQ231 is equipped with Constant-Q Filtering, which helps the HQ's FDC work with greater efficiency while delivering superior overall EQ performance. Constant-Q ensures that even with radical adjustments to one frequency band, adjacent bands will not be affected. This is especially important in professional applications, including monitor mixes and feedback control.

Professional features such as 45mm center detent sliders with a selectable 6dB or 12dB boost or cut range ensure the HQ231 can be used for radical sound shaping or precise control of a system audio. Versatile connection to any live sound system or setup can be easily achieved using balanced XLR, 1/4" TRS and unbalanced RCA input and output connectors included on the rear panel of the HQ231.
