DESCRIPTION
Few guitars are as famous as Eddie Van Halen's favorite 6-string sidekick, affectionately known as "Frankenstein." This guitar was Eddie's attempt to combine the sound of a classic single-cutaway solid-body guitar with the physical attributes and vibrato bar functionality of a Fender Stratocaster. The EVH Frankenstein "Frankie" series is a civilian version of Eddie Van Halen's iconic red, black, and white Frankenstrat guitar—complete with a worn-in, relic'd finish.
Built from a piece of solid basswood, this solid-body electric guitar growls with the best of them, while featuring rock-solid mids that can cut through a frantic rhythm section with ease. A direct-mount Wolfgang humbucker nails the classic Eddie sound, especially when you use it to push a high-gain amp.
Featuring a slim, quartersawn maple neck and a fast-playing compound-radius relic'd maple fingerboard, this guitar was born to shred. Intentionally positioned against the body, the dive-only, D-Tuna-equipped Floyd Rose lets you easily mimic Eddie's signature vibrato work, while giving you instant access to Drop D tuning. EVH Frankenstein series models are packed with classic Van Halen vibes, but most importantly, they deliver killer tone and ultra-fast playability.
