From the very first lessons of Book 1, students make music by exploring the piano keyboard through fun improvisation pieces called My Own Song. The beginning of the book introduces finger numbers, groups of black and white keys, and basic rhythmic patterns.
Directional reading is taught first by finger number, then by note name, and then by interval (step, skip, and repeat). Once students are introduced to the staff, they learn to read guide notes F and G, and to read by interval in several different hand positions. This package includes a piano lesson book with access to online audio and MIDI files of delightful backing tracks to give children the joy of sounding good even as beginners! The online audio also includes Playback+ features that allow students to slow down the tempo without changing the pitch, or loop difficult passages until they master them!
