The Aquarian "Classic Clear" (or "CC") head is a medium-weight, transparent, single-ply head designed for use as both a batter and resonant head on any drum.
Like all Aquarian heads, the CC model features the "Sound Curve" collar; this design allows the bearing edge to sit naturally in the curve of the head, making tuning easier and faster. The Safe-T-Lok hoop and "Nu-Brite" film allow the drum to speak fully, making the Classic Clear the ideal resonant head for any tom!
When used as a batter head, the Nu-Brite film (crystal clear and 10 mils thick) produces a very open sound, rich in attack and with musical sustain. As a resonant head (the side opposite the batter), the CC provides a warm, clean response without choking the sound.
About resonant heads (bottom heads): Often overlooked, the resonant head nonetheless plays a major role in the overall sound of the drum. A poor-quality or poorly tuned resonant head can ruin the sound of an excellent drum. Take the time to get to know your resonant head: you will significantly improve the sound and performance of your drum kit.
