The Pugilist V2 is a distortion pedal unlike any other, utilizing two independent distortion engines packed into a single chassis to produce a wealth of thick tones. Each distortion engine can be activated separately using its designated footswitch and dialed in using its own gain, tone, and level controls. This provides two distinct distortion flavors, with Engine A delivering treble-rich lead tones and Engine B relying on thick, heavier distortion. The true magic of the Pugilist V2 lies in the Path switch, which runs both distortion engines through three different signal paths as they push each other into harmonically rich saturation.
The two series modes send one circuit into the other to stack drive sounds that can be layered like amp channels, using the footswitches to move to the next level of cascading distortion. Parallel mode allows for deep sound shaping by running both engines side-by-side to blend and balance them using the level controls to create the perfect fusion of articulate and thick distortion.
