The Violet Distortion is a new approach to distortion/overdrive, the result of a collaboration between Josh Scott and the highly influential Brazilian guitarist Lari Basilio! Using this pedal is like adding a new, ultra-flexible distortion channel to your favorite clean amp. Its unique three-band EQ sets the Violet apart from our other popular distortion pedals. We placed the mid-range control before the distortion circuit, providing a powerful tool for shaping preamp distortion. This unique design choice allows the Violet to achieve hundreds of sounds, from overdrive to full-on modern distortion. The treble and bass controls are located more traditionally, after the distortion circuit, offering familiar yet extremely flexible post-distortion shaping.
The Violet also excels when stacked with other overdrives, distortions, and fuzzes, allowing it to integrate perfectly into any rig as a second or new primary channel.
This pedal is for anyone looking to give their guitar a new voice. As Lari says: "Why do I need words when my guitar can speak for me?"
Volume - Controls the overall volume of the device. Left: less, right: more.
Mid Freq - Controls the mid-range frequencies boosted or cut by the Mid control.
Gain - Controls the level of drive. Left: less, right: more.
Bass - Controls the level of low frequencies. Noon: neutral, left: cut, right: boost.
Mid - Controls the level of mid-range frequencies. Noon: neutral, left: scooped, right: boosted. The frequency range is defined by the Mid Freq control.
Treble - Controls the level of treble. Noon: neutral, left: cut, right: boost.
INPUT - 1/4" jack on the top right of the pedal.
OUTPUT - 1/4" jack on the top left of the pedal.
POWER - Uses 9V DC, center negative 55mA. Do not use more than 9V DC. Damage may occur and your warranty will be voided. Soft-touch silent switching with a buffered bypass.
