The Radial SB-1 Acoustic is a high-performance active direct box designed for players on the move. Designed to fit in a guitar case, the SB-1 is the smallest radial DI box ever! But don't let its small size deter you...this ultra-compact StageBug looks absolutely awesome!
The design starts with a standard ¼ instrument input with an output to feed your tuner or amp on stage. The ultra-quiet active circuit immediately converts the signal from high to low impedance to reduce noise sensitivity. The signal is then buffered and balanced for long cable runs to the PA system. The 48-volt phantom provides power, so the SB-1 does not need batteries or external power to operate it. You simply plug in and you're ready to go!
The active circuit features a carefully selected input impedance of 800 kohms to eliminate loading issues while delivering clear, crisp sound to the audio system. This gives extra sparkle to the top end when interfacing vintage guitars with low-output pickups and is especially handy if you plan to use it for recording or reamping. The SB-1 also features a -15dB pad that reduces input sensitivity to gracefully handle even the loudest active instruments. This makes the SB-1 ideally suited for electric bass and keyboards. To reduce feedback, flipping the polarity switch 180° helps eliminate hot spots on stage that can cause low-frequency resonance.
