Reamping has been the secret weapon of many recognized recordings in the music industry and is often used on guitars, bass, keyboards, percussion and even vocals.

This process allows you to take a pre-recorded track, send it back to a guitar or bass amplifier, and re-record the take in a more conventional way using mics.

The benefits are enormous: instead of worrying about how the track sounds, you can focus your attention on achieving the best musical performance. Once the magic is captured, you can feed the signal back into the guitar amp.

So you can move the microphones as you wish so that the sound recording is optimized, try different amplifiers or add effects.

The Radial SGI is made up of a pair of modules, a transmitter (SGI-TX) and a receiver (SGI-RX) which allows a guitar to be remote up to 100 m from the amplifier. The SGI is a unity gain device using 100% discrete Class A circuitry for fantastic sound and a transformer to eliminate ground loops.

In the studio, the SGI allows the guitarist to play in the recording booth in order to benefit from studio monitoring. Live, the SGI allows you to move the amp so that it does not interfere with the front-of-house sound or the monitors.

The guitar is plugged into the SGI-TX which takes care of impedance and level conversion, as well as signal balancing. The output is similar to a DI, allowing it to be connected to stage or studio multi-pair systems. At the end of the process, the SGI-RX reconverts the signal into a high impedance guitar signal to power an amp or pedal board.

Connection to an amplifier up to 100 m away. For the studio or stage.
