Device description
The Shure GLXD14+ is a digital wireless headset microphone system that delivers reliable hands-free audio and exceptional sound quality in an easy-to-use package, even if you've never used a wireless system before. Shure's next-generation technology takes care of the setup for you, automatically scanning the 2.4 and 5.8 GHz frequency ranges for the best possible digital transmission channel to ensure reliable performance for dynamic presentations, demonstrations, performances, conferences and events at a typical range of up to 100' indoors and 65' outdoors.

This version of the GLXD14+ is configured with a bodypack transmitter and SM35 Performance wired headset designed to provide a secure and comfortable fit for active presenters and performers. The microphone's light weight and low profile help prevent fatigue during intensive use. Designed for speech, the electret-condenser capsule delivers clear, crisp vocal reproduction, and the cardioid pickup configuration helps focus audio capture on the subject, allowing less surrounding sounds to be picked up and reducing noise. Feedback problems when using sound reinforcement equipment. A windscreen is provided to reduce plosives and vocal noises.

The mic plugs into the TA4F connector of the rugged, metallic GLXD1+ bodypack transmitter, which offers an ergonomic design and comfortable fit with a convenient on/off switch that can be operated by touch. The included SB904 rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 12 hours of battery life. A red and green LED indicator lets you see sync and battery status at a glance. The transmitter automatically turns off after approximately one hour to save battery power if a signal from a linked receiver is not detected.

This setup features a portable tabletop receiver made from durable ABS plastic, with front-mounted charger for the SB904 battery and an easy-to-read screen that displays relevant information. The system transmits audio with a flat frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and a dynamic range of 120 dB, leaving the audio from your mic unaffected by wireless components. The transmitter's input gain can be adjusted wirelessly from the receiver's front panel to optimize the audio signal. The rear panel features a balanced XLR output switchable between mic and line levels, as well as a balanced 1/4" Inst/Aux output.
Dual-band technology for easy, reliable wireless performance
GLX-D+ dual-band digital wireless systems operate in both the 2.4 and 5.8 GHz frequency ranges, automatically scanning both to select which offers the greatest number of clean channels.
The old GLX-D system only operated in the 2.4 GHz range, which provides a bandwidth of 83.5 MHz. By expanding to the 5.8 GHz range, GLX-D+ provides an additional 125 MHz of potential open frequencies for available channels, helping to minimize dropouts and improve reliability.
The system offers true digital diversity, meaning two antennas and two independent receiving modules work together to reduce RF signal losses.
Additionally, the GLX-D+ transmits on its own primary frequency, like a traditional system, but it also transmits on two additional "backup frequencies" at the same time. If the system detects interference on the main frequency, it will automatically switch to one of the backup frequencies without the user noticing.
Besides the additional spectrum, there are other benefits to operating in the 5.8 GHz range. In general, there are fewer devices operating in this range, making the spectrum cleaner. The 2.4 GHz range accommodates Bluetooth devices and other devices, including Wi-Fi routers and repeaters, security cameras, baby monitors, garage door openers and more. Operating in this range means competing with these devices for the same space.
GLX-D+ receivers typically allow up to 4 microphones to be used simultaneously in the same space. Under ideal conditions, up to 8 systems can be used.
If you need more mics at once, consider a system with the GLXDR+ Half-Rack Receiver, which offers detachable antennas and can accommodate the GLXD+FMZ3/LC Frequency Manager (available separately). The Frequency Manager allows 11 mics to operate simultaneously (16 under optimal conditions), making it ideal for installations with multiple wireless systems.
Intelligent battery charging for uninterrupted performance
The GLXD1+ bodypack transmitter runs on a rechargeable SB904 lithium-ion battery (included).
The battery provides up to 12 hours of continuous use on a full charge.
The SB904 battery can be recharged in the GLXDR4+ receiver's charging bay (located on the front panel). The charging bay can also be used to charge a spare battery while the transmitter is in use.
The SB904 can also be recharged in the bodypack transmitter using a USB charging cable. A quick charge of 15 minutes is enough for an hour and a half of use.
The remaining battery life of the SB904 is displayed in hours and minutes on the front panel of the receiver.
Add features to your system
Shure offers a variety of headset, lavalier, instrument, and handheld microphone options to adapt your GLX-D+ system as your needs evolve.

Presenters

In addition to the SM35 Performance Headphones included in this bundle, Shure also offers the PGA31 Headphones and SM31 Fitness Headphones models.
The discreet MX153 miniature headset microphone delivers exceptional clarity in speech applications.
The WL93 subminiature omnidirectional lavalier microphone provides consistent pickup, even when the performer turns away from the mic.
The WL185 cardioid lavalier microphone features a more focused miking configuration for presenters, artists, clergy and speakers working in high-volume environments.
Singers/presenters

The GLXD2+ handheld transmitter is available with a variety of microphone capsule options for presenters and performers who prefer the flexibility of a handheld microphone, including the SM58, BETA 58A and BETA 87A capsules.

Guitarists

The WA302, WA304 and WA305 guitar cables allow you to connect the bodypack transmitter to a guitar or bass.
Instrumentalists

The WB98H/C flexible gooseneck instrument microphone attaches to brass, woodwind and percussion instruments and connects to the bodypack transmitter.
