The Faux Spring Reverb has been a staple on many players boards for many years now, and when it was discontinued a few years ago Brian received numerous requests to bring it back since then. Not being one to be happy with just reissuing something, Brian decided to take all of the feedback from players he had received and give it a bit if an upgrade.
The result was the birth of the Mini Faux Spring Reverb. Following the idea of “If it's not broken, don't fix it,” he just added more of what players love. More decay, more drippiness and more of that bouncy spring tone players love in the bigger Reverb tanks. Despite sounding bigger and fuller, he decided to condense it down into a mini enclosure to fit perfectly at the end if any chain to grab and go.
Bypass Switch - A true bypass footswitch provides solid mechanical removal from the circuit when not wanted, meaning you don't lose any sound when the pedal is turned off.
Volume – This control adjusts the amount of wet signal present. Sometimes you want a subtle, smooth nuance of reverb; sometimes you want brash, wet, springy goodness. The pedal works best in your amp, and it is very important to consider that when you increase the gain of your amp, especially if it starts to overdrive/distort, the sound of the reverb will increase significantly due to the natural compression introduced by amp player. To keep the amount of reverb where you want it, be sure to carefully adjust the level control when you are at the desired amp volume. Using pedals in front of the Faux Spring Reverb does not require this adjustment, as they play into the sound of the simulated spring reverb. Only if the Faux Spring Reverb's signal goes into something that creates saturation or distortion should you be careful adjusting the level control to make sure you don't get more reverb than intended. This knob, used in conjunction with the Tone and Depth knobs, also lets you dial in some really interesting nuance to the overall sound, which you can play around with for lots of texture. I will be sure to include a preset that demonstrates this usage.
Tone – This adjusts the sound of the Mini Faux Spring Reverb to be brighter or darker. Useful for dialing in precisely the type of spring tone you want, at higher settings you can get very lively sounds while you play, while at lower settings all the way counterclockwise. clockwise, the sound has a darker sound, more restrained quality. Adjusting this control will necessarily involve adjusting the Depth control, since these two parameters have a huge impact on the overall sound of the Mini Faux Spring Reverb. Tone shaping is vital to dialing it in for your guitar, pedals, and amp setup, and Brian has taken care to include all the tuning range you need to get great reverb sound, no matter what. whatever your surrounding equipment.
Depth – Depth controls how long the Mini Faux Spring Reverb's simulated spring reverb extends. Higher depth settings can give you a huge sound that only long, looser reverb tanks deliver, while shorter depth settings are great for simulating smaller spring reverb tanks. Adjust in conjunction with Tone to dial in the perfect reverb tone you want, then set how front or back you want it to be with Volume. Three buttons, impeccable control and tons of sounds!
