The DGX-670 offers a wide range of voices in addition to piano, from 630 realistic-sounding instruments, including electric pianos, organs and strings, to eye-catching synthesized sounds. Advanced auto accompaniment styles allow you to play with any number of other “musicians,” from a combo to a big band. There are 263 accompaniment styles, including rock, R&B and dance. Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM)
In a grand piano, the strings and tones resonate throughout the body of the instrument, producing a rich reverberation that envelops the listener in sound. Not only do the strings you play vibrate, but other strings sound in response to the ones you play. This is one of the reasons why the piano sound is so complex and rich.
This phenomenon is perfectly reproduced in the DGX-670 thanks to virtual resonance modeling (VRM) which calculates the different states of the strings for each of the 88 notes of the keyboard from one moment to the next. As a result, the DGX-670 reflects the limitless number of factors inherent in playing an acoustic piano, such as which keys are pressed, how hard the keys are played, and the timing of the pedals.

Authentic piano touch, 88-note weighted GHS keyboard
The Yamaha Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) keyboard features a weighted action with a heavier touch in the bass and a lighter touch in the treble, just like the hammers on an acoustic piano. Ideal for the budding pianist, practicing on the GHS action develops proper technique and finger strength when it comes time to play an acoustic piano.

The DGX-670 is equipped with Adaptive Style, a function that automatically analyzes your playing in real time and organizes the accompaniment according to the mood of the music. Play with more intensity and the adaptive style speeds up the accompaniment; switch to a softer mood and the adaptive style softens with you. The accompaniment joins you wherever you are, at any time, giving each track the thrilling feel of a live performance.
Simple style: minimal accompaniment for a simpler sound
When you want to simplify things and highlight the voice of the instrument you're playing, simply press a button to reduce the accompaniment to the rhythm and bass.
Smart Chord - Professional chords, played simply!
Smart Chord makes you feel like a pro, even if you're just learning to play. With just one finger on your left hand, Smart Chord will create entire chords, from simple pop triads to complex jazz 7th and 9th chords. Accompaniment Styles create the rest of your virtual band so you can play music directly.
Unison and accent
Unison & Accent are functions that open up a wide range of expressive capabilities. With Unison, you play a phrase while pressing the pedal, causing the accompaniment style to play in unison with you. This allows you to perform signature lines found in iconic songs or create your own signature licks for the whole band to follow. Accent lets you add rhythmic “hits” to accentuate notes of your choice simply by playing a little louder.

Since a microphone can be connected to this instrument and song lyrics can be displayed on the screen, you can sing along with your keyboard performance or along with a song playing. Additionally, you can apply various studio-quality effects such as chorus to your singing voice. You can also undo the vocal portion of audio recordings, allowing you to sing along with (or instead of!) your favorite artists and bands and enjoy your performance even more.
Audio playback and recording
Audio files (WAV format) recorded on a USB flash drive can be played back on the instrument. You can also save your performance as audio files on a USB drive, making it easy to edit your computer recordings the way you want and share them over the Internet.
Lesson Features
Lesson features provide a fun way to learn and master songs, with notation displayed on screen.
